Salman Khan is all set to be seen in Apoorva Lakhia's war drama, Maatrubhumi. The film is still in the post-production stage, with the makers yet to lock its final cut. According to a report by Variety India, composer Ravi Basrur is working on the film’s background score at Octavia Studios, while additional changes are being incorporated into the project. The film will be submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) only after the final version is locked and the necessary approvals are completed. Initially announced as Battle of Galwan, the film underwent several changes before its title was revised in March.

Reports have also suggested that the climax and Salman’s character arc were reworked to place greater emphasis on the message of peace. The revised version reportedly received a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The film was initially scheduled to release in theatres on April 17, 2026, but missed its release date. Although Diwali and Christmas have emerged as possible release windows in recent reports, the makers are yet to announce a confirmed date. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film also stars Chitrangda Singh and is inspired by the Galwan conflict, with Salman reportedly portraying an Indian Army officer. The project is produced by Salman Khan Films.
