Ranabaali Box Office Day 2: Vijay Deverakonda’s Film Inches Towards Rs 20 Crore Amid Competition From Jailer 2Oct 17, 2026, 22:36 IST

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali arrived in theatres on October 16, 2026, bringing a historical action drama to the big screen. Following a promising opening, the film is now facing its crucial second day at the box office. On day 2, Vijay and Rashmika's film has crossed Rs 15 crore. Set against the backdrop of the Great Madras Famine, the Rahul Sankrityan directorial explores resistance against British colonial oppression. However, the film’s theatrical run comes amid competition from Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which released a day earlier. With the festive box-office window heating up, all eyes are on Ranabaali and its performance after the opening-day response.

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s Ranabaali has recorded a notable performance at the box office on its second day. According to Sacnilk, the period action drama has collected Rs 6.56 crore net in India on Saturday, October 17, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 15.81 crore so far (at the time of writing). The film’s India gross collection currently stands at Rs 18.49 crore. These figures are live estimates, with final collections for Day 2 yet to be reported. The film is currently running across 2,236 shows in India.

Ranabaali opened in theatres on Friday, October 16, and collected Rs 9.25 crore net in India on its first day, according to Sacnilk. Its domestic gross stood at Rs 10.75 crore, while overseas markets contributed Rs 5.75 crore, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 16.50 crore. The film recorded 2,515 shows across India on its opening day, with an overall occupancy rate of 57 per cent. The Telugu version registered 54.70 per cent occupancy on Friday. Night shows performed best, recording 67.92 per cent occupancy, while morning shows registered 40.92 per cent.

Ranabaali Faces Competition From Jailer 2

Despite a promising opening, Ranabaali fell short of Vijay Deverakonda’s career-best opening-day collection. His 2025 film Kingdom holds that record, having earned Rs 17 crore net in India on its first day. Other major openings in his career include Liger, which collected Rs 15.95 crore net, and Kushi, which earned Rs 15.25 crore net on its opening day.

With its second-day performance, Ranabaali has crossed the Rs 15 crore mark in domestic net collections. Its performance over the remainder of the opening weekend will be important in determining whether it can maintain its momentum.

The film is also competing for audience attention with Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which arrived in theatres on October 15, a day before Ranabaali. The two releases have made the festive box-office window more competitive, with both films vying for audiences. Jailer 2 has collected Rs 47.80 crore net in India on Day 3, taking its total domestic net collection to Rs 144.60 crore. With overseas gross earnings reaching Rs 147.50 crore, Rajinikanth’s film has crossed Rs 317 crore worldwide.
