Alpha OTT Release Date: When And Where To Watch Alia Bhatt, Sharvari's Assassin Drama

Alia Bhatt and Sharvari joined the Yash Raj Films' Spy Universe with the first assassin origin story, titled Alpha. The film secured a theatrical release on July 3. Due to multiple delays, there were rumours of the movie taking a direct-to-digital route; however, it released theatrically across the globe. Now, after concluding its big-screen run, Alpha will be streaming on OTT soon. According to reports, YRF has tied up with Netflix for the digital release of the assassin thriller. Alpha is directed by Shiv Rawail and is the first female-driven film in the spyverse.

As per reports, Alpha will be streaming on Netflix from August 28. The OTT platform and makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding the same. Previously, YRF released War 2 on Netflix. Their earlier titles like Pathaan, Tiger 3 and Ek Tha Tiger are available on Amazon Prime Video.

Alpha follows the story of Colonel Fateh Singh Lakhawat and his vengeance. After his experiment with the Alpha serum fails and kills R&AW Chief Vikrant Kaul's wife, he uses his daughter as a guinea pig to get the formula right. Vikrant is under the impression that his daughter is dead, but Fateh raises a killing machine who lacks emotions. Sita is trained to become an Alpha soldier. She has an extraordinary IQ and skills. However, when Sita learns about Fateh’s ulterior motives against India, she vows to kill him. Joining her is another Alpha woman who has a special connection with Sita. In the end, it is confirmed that Alia and Sharvari will be featuring in some of the future SpyVerse movies.

Alia Bhatt plays the role of Sita, whereas Sharvari is Durga. Anil Kapoor is seen in the role of R&AW Chief Vikrant Kaul. Bobby Deol is Colonel Fateh Singh Lakhawat. Dia Mirza has a special role in Alpha. Hrithik Roshan returns as Major Kabir Dhaliwal for an important cameo.

As per reports, Alpha ended its run in theatres with a worldwide gross collection of approximately Rs 100.16 crore. Amid mixed reviews, it became the lowest-earning film in the spy universe.

Alia and Sharvari are expected to make cameos in Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone's Pathaan 2 and War 3, if announced. Alpha is the seventh film in the franchise after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.
