Kate Winslet has an exceptional body of work to her credit, and it would be obvious to term her as a legend in her profession. However, it seems that the actress thinks otherwise.
She was addressed as a “legend”, by the host, Nikki Glaser, at the Golden Globes Awards recently, and the cameras captured her instant reaction of discomfort to it.
Her name was taken alongside Cate Blanchett and Collin Farrell.
Her cringed expression went viral on social media, and netizens started reacting to it. As the cameras zoomed in further, she was seen mouthing, “Why me?”
With several highlights from the ceremony this year, from Timothee-Kylie’s PDA to Zendaya sparking engagement rumours, Winslet’s unfiltered reaction was definitely hailed as unmissable.
Social Media had a flurry of comments, discussing what had unfolded. One user commented, “Kate Winslet hiding from the camera is funnier than anything else we’ll see tonight.”
While someone else mentioned, “Kate Winslet’s face LOOOOOL.”
Another section of people were of the opinion that her reaction was the perfect content for making memes that would become an instant hit.
The Titanic actress was nominated in two categories at the Golden Globes 2025.
One, was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Movie, for her performance in Lee. The other one was for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for The Regime.
Unfortunately, she didn’t win this year, as the award for the latter category was bagged by Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country.
The 82nd Golden Globes Awards was held at the Beverly Hilton, on January 5, 2025. It recognizes talents across film and television.
