Madhya Pradesh Police on Tuesday terminated the services of an inspector caught for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh when he was assisting the CBI in its probe into the alleged nursing colleges scam, an official said. Sushil Majoka, an inspector with the Crime Research Department of Madhya Pradesh Police, was attached to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing alleged corruption and irregularities in nursing colleges, he said. Delhi Water Minister Atishi on Tuesday accused Haryana of not releasing Delhi’s share of water since May 1 and said the government will be implementing a slew of measures, including rationalising the supply of water in the national capital. The income tax department today asked taxpayers to link PAN with Aadhaar by May 31 to avoid tax deduction at a higher rate. As per income tax rules, if a Permanent Account Number (PAN) is not linked with biometric Aadhaar, TDS is required to be deducted at double the applicable rate. India’s first undersea tunnel — the coastal road tunnel in Mumbai — is showing evidence of seepage. The tunnel has been in use only for less than three months.
