The Supreme Court will hear petitions seeking a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam NEET on July 8. The court has asked Centre to submit a response by then over allegations of question paper leader and other irregularities in the exam. Rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim has filed another petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for a 21-day parole. The Dera Sacha Sauda chief was granted a 50-day parole in January – for a seventh time in just 10 months. Ram Rahim in his petition said he needed the parole to participate in a programme hosted by the Dera Sacha Sauda. After admitting his petition, the high court issued notice to the Haryana government and the Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), and sought a reply by July 2. A video has gone viral on social media showing a man dancing shirtless on the top of a “government” vehicle on a Noida road. In the viral video, about 10-15 men can be seen dancing on the road with as many as three vehicles parked in the middle of the street. Ravi, the driver, had taken Renuka Swamy – whose body was found later – from Karnataka’s Chitadurga to state capital Bengaluru, 200 km apart.
