VJ and actress Anusha Dandekar had a sweet reunion with Amitabh Bachchan recently, at Javed Akhtar’s 80th birthday.
To those unaware, Anusha and Amitabh Bachchan had shared screen space in the 2005 film Virrudh… Family Comes First. Her latest Instagram post brings back fond memories.
In the picture, Amitabh Bachchan and Anusha Dandekar are seen beaming at the camera.
Even at 82, the megastar gives young fashionistas a run for their money in a multi-coloured, printed jacket.
Sharing the snap, Anusha Dandekar wrote, “My First Father-In-Law ever … lucky me. Virrudh reunion.”
Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, Virrudh… Family Comes First is about an elderly couple who grapples with the death of their son due to murder. They search for faith in human values and society, undergoing a harrowing parental struggle.
Besides Amitabh Bachchan and Anusha Dandekar, the movie also featured Sharmila Tagore, John Abraham, Sanjay Dutt, Prem Chopra, Sharat Saxena, Sachin Khedekar, and Shivaji Satam in key roles.
Virrudh… Family Comes First clocked 19 years last year on July 22, 2025. To celebrate the milestone, Anusha Dandekar gave a shout-out to the team on Instagram.
She wrote, “My first wedding, what a turnout! 19 years of Virrudh… what a beautiful film this was for so many, especially me. Have you watched it? Thank you Mahesh Manjrekar I have such special films because of you. I also get to say I worked with the greatest! Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Sanjay Dutt, and John Abraham.”
Anusha Dandekar marked her foray into the entertainment world with the television show MTV Dance Crew.
She has been a part of films like Delhi Belly, Mumbai Matinee, and Anthony Kaun Hai.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD.
He also played a key role in Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan, which released last year on October 10, 2024.
