Fans are ecstatic as they celebrate 25 years of Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai. which was re-released in theatres on January 10, 2025.
It also marked 25 years of Hrithik Roshan in the film industry.
Ameesha Patel was the lead actress in the film.
On asking her about her first impression of Hrithik Roshan, who was debuting with the film, she mentioned how they were family friends.
She told News18, “I knew him when we were teenagers. He was a thin, introverted, and awkward teenager. He was shy like me. When I came back to Mumbai after my education in Boston and saw him, he had completely transformed!”
She further added, “It was like this caterpillar had become a butterfly. I looked at him and said, ‘Superstar!’ But he could not digest it, and called me biased. We both had changed from gawky teenagers to young people. We became confident and talkative. The shyness had fallen over. And we hit it off from the word go! I used to call him Pierce Brosnan, the Bond!”
Ameesha concluded by saying that the term ‘Greek God’, was given to Hrithik Roshan by her and that she is very proud of it.
Ameesha Patel was last seen in Gadar 2, the sequel to her 2001 blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The sequel was directed by Anil Sharma, which had released on August 11, 2023.
Gadar 2 smashed all box-office records that year. The worldwide box-office collection of the film is Rs 691.08 crore.
Ameesha Patel and Sunny Deol reprised their roles as Sakeena and Tara Singh, respectively.
