Sonu Sood‘s directorial debut, Fateh, had a subdued opening at the box office on Friday and continued to have a decent run through its first weekend. The film, which stars Sonu in the lead role, is the first Hindi release of 2025 and faced tough competition from Telugu star Ram Charan’s Game Changer, which also released on the same day.
According to Sacnilk, Fateh earned Rs 2.10 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 6.60 crore.
The film started its box office journey with a Rs 2.4 crore opening on Friday. However, despite the weekend approaching, the film saw a 12.50% decline in earnings on Saturday, with Rs 2.1 crore in collections.
As per the trade analysts, Fateh should have experienced a significant rise in revenue over the weekend, but it only saw a marginal increase on Sunday. This underwhelming performance occurred even after the filmmakers reduced ticket prices to Rs 99.
To further boost footfall, they introduced a special Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) offer on Sunday, but it failed to make a notable difference in ticket sales. Zee Studios promoted the offer on Instagram with a poster captioned, “Samay aa gaya hai, aapke liye power-packed offer ka! Book one ticket and get another one free, offer starts today. Fateh in cinemas now.”
In Fateh, Sonu Sood plays the role of Fateh Singh, an ex-special ops officer turned dairy farming supervisor in Punjab. The story follows Fateh as he takes on a cybercrime syndicate after a village girl becomes its victim.
Fateh teams up with Khushi Sharma (played by Jacqueline Fernandez), an ethical hacker, to rescue the girl and dismantle the cybercriminals. The high-octane action thriller is produced by Zee Studios and Shakti Sagar Productions.
