WAPL Schedule Released, Mithali Raj Named Brand Ambassador

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has released the schedule for the upcoming Women’s Andhra Premier League (WAPL), with the tournament set to feature 13 matches, including the final, from September 19 to 27.

A reserve day has been allotted for the final. The matches will be held at Mangalagiri, with both day and night fixtures scheduled. Entry for spectators will be free.

The WAPL will feature four teams in the league stage, with the top performers advancing to the final. The title winner will be decided on September 27.

Former India captain Mithali Raj has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the league. Organisers said her association would help inspire young cricketers and increase the visibility of women’s cricket.

Preparations are underway for the opening ceremony, with special guests expected to attend. Details of the dignitaries will be announced later.

ACA president Kesineni Shivanath (Chinni), secretary Sana Satish Babu, governing council chairman Sujay Krishna Rangarao and director of cricket operations Doddapaneni Kalyan Krishna are overseeing the arrangements, including player facilities, match organisation and spectator amenities.

Organisers said support from players, organisers and fans would be important for the conduct of the league.
