Toxic Hyderabad Pre-Release Event Mishap: FIR Filed Against Malla Reddy University, Organisers

Yash, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth attended a grand pre-release event in Hyderabad to promote their upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups. The stage was set at Malla Reddy University to welcome the guests and thousands of fans. Due to the massive turnout that included fans and students of the college, a part of the sound unit collapsed. Yash was addressing the crowd when the incident took place. Now, according to the latest report, an FIR has been lodged against Malla Reddy University and the organisers.

According to Gulte's report, an FIR has been lodged at the Pet Basheerabad Police Station in Secunderabad, Telangana, against the management of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions and the event manager. As per IND Today's report, the police are examining the arrangements made for Toxic's pre-release event. Reportedly, they are also assessing whether the organisers followed the required safety and crowd control measures. The police are collecting information regarding how the accident took place and what led to the sound unit collapsing.

According to Gulte and TV9, a large sound box or floodlight structure collapsed as students gathered near the stage area. Reportedly, youngsters sustained injuries. One female student reportedly lost consciousness following the impact. Visuals on social media show injured students were immediately taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance for medical attention. Out of excitement, some students climbed the sound unit to catch a glimpse of Yash.

When the incident occurred, Yash was on stage. He noticed it and stopped his speech and checked whether the students were alright. The actor urged the audience to remain seated and be safe.

Toxic has been filmed simultaneously in English and Kannada, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and several other languages. According to CBFC's website, the film's synopsis reads: A gangster navigates the complexities of loyalty, morality, and the struggle for personal redemption in a post-independence Goa where violence and jealousy reign. With its atmospheric world, brutal action sequences, and morally conflicted characters, the film explores the price one must pay for love and for finding redemption amidst the darkness.

Toxic releases worldwide on August 26. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. Yash is the co-producer along with KVN Productions.
