‘Three claps’ from CJP: BJP’s outreach team has no Gen Z member

New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Sunday, August 23, took to social media to take a dig at the BJP’s new Gen Z outreach programme and its leaders. “Three claps to the BJP for a marvellous set of ‘Gen Z faces’,” said CJP co-convenor Saurav Das on X, even as his party announced it will reconvene on Monday to plan its course of action.

BJP’s Gen Z outreach team, news reports said, comprises party chief Nitin Nabin, general secretaries Vinod Tawde and Smriti Irani, Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghvi, and Chhattisgarh Minister OP Chowdhary. This group will only focus on youth and their concerns.

Resorting to sarcasm, Das posted on X, “Wonderful decision by the BJP on ‘reaching out’ to Gen Z. Nitin Nabin recently called the young generation ‘virus and cockroach’, protestors a part of “tukde tukde gang.”

“And Smriti Irani… well… just Google why she was thrown out of the Education Ministry within two years, in 2016…her own questionable degree from ‘Yell University’ give her great moral authority to lecture us, young people.

Das also posted on X that the CJP would convene its National Working Committee on Monday, August 24, to decide next steps. “The Union Government is conspiring to cheat the young generation. We will not allow it,” he wrote.

He also shared a document which read, “The commitments made to us were unambiguous: withdrawal or quashing of all FIRs arising out of the protests and a guarantee that no student or peaceful protestor would face punitive action in the future.”

Any attempt to delay or dilute these commitments would amount to ‘vishwaasghaat’ with the youth, the party wrote.

In view of the developments, said the CJP’s statement, “the National Working Committee of the Cockroach Janta Party will convene on August 24 to assess the situation and decide the organisation’s next course of action.”
