Speaker Falls at Actor Yash's University Event in Hyderabad; Police Say No Stampede

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at a movie pre-release event at a university on Saturday when a student climbed onto a sound box which fell down and brought down some floodlights along with it. Police said a case will be registered. The incident occurred when the actor Yash was speaking. Police said the student was not supposed to climb on to the sound box.

While initial reports suggested that the incident triggered a stampede and several students suffered fractures. Police clarified that there was no stampede at the venue. Police said they were examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and would take action against the student for climbing on to the speaker. Officials maintained that the situation was brought under control and there was no major issue at the event.
