Shahid Kapoor’s Deva Co-Star Rohullah Mehdi Arrested In Drugs Case, Sent To 5-Day Police Custody - Report
Shahid Kapoor’s Deva co-star Rohullah Mehdi has reportedly landed in legal trouble following his arrest in connection with a Mumbai drugs case. The actor and model was taken into custody by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch as part of an investigation into an alleged narcotics network. According to reports, the probe began after police received information about drugs allegedly being sold through social media platforms. Mehdi’s arrest came after investigators followed a lead during their operation in the city. He was subsequently produced before a court, which sent him to police custody for five days. The investigation into the case is currently underway.
NDTV mentioned that Shahid Kapoor’s Deva co-star Rohullah Mehdi has reportedly been arrested in connection with a Mumbai drugs case. The actor and model was taken into custody by the Kashimira Police Crime Branch during an investigation into an alleged narcotics network reportedly operating through social media platforms.
According to police, they received a tip-off about MD drugs allegedly being sold through Snapchat, WhatsApp and other social media platforms. Following the information, officers reportedly set up a trap using a decoy customer.
A man identified as Kasif was allegedly called near Thakur Mall in the Dahisar Check Naka area to deliver 28 grams of MD. Police reportedly caught him during the alleged drug deal. The seized drugs were valued at approximately Rs 5.60 lakh. According to the FIR, registered as FIR No. 437/2026, Mehdi has been named as the main accused. During questioning, Kasif allegedly named Mehdi, following which police tracked down and arrested the actor.

Mehdi was reportedly arrested outside a studio in Malad, where he was shooting. According to police, he is originally from Budgam district in Jammu and Kashmir and was living in Goregaon, Mumbai. He has worked with Shahid Kapoor in Deva and has also appeared in several web series.
Following his arrest, Mehdi was produced before a court, which reportedly sent him to five days of police custody. Police are now investigating the alleged narcotics network and attempting to establish who Mehdi may have supplied drugs to.

Investigators are also checking whether other people connected to the film industry could have links to the case. The police are expected to question the accused further and examine possible connections within the alleged network. The operation was carried out by the Kashimira Police team under the guidance of DCP Zone-1 Rahul Chavan. Police have said that the investigation is ongoing and that more names could emerge as they continue to probe the alleged drug network.
