BEIRUT — Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Fahad Al-Dosari attended on Friday the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the container terminal at Beirut Port, in the presence of Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.
The ceremony was held at Berth 16 of Beirut Port and brought together political and economic figures.
The expansion is expected to more than double the port’s annual container handling capacity from about 1.3 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) currently to 3 million TEUs by 2028.
