Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Stopped At Delhi Airport, AAP Calls It Centre's ArroganceOct 21, 2026, 00:15 IST

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was stopped at Delhi airport for around three hours after returning from Paris, triggering a political row, with AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleging that the Centre was acting with “arrogance”.

Bharadwaj claimed in a post on X that Mann was stopped at the airport for around three hours after travelling to Paris to launch Punjab products. He alleged that the trip came after Mann had challenged the Centre over the non-granting of a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).

"Mann Saab stopped at an Indian Airport for around 3 hours. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann went to Paris to launch Punjab’s products at Paris. This was after he challenged Centre’s not granting him the NOC. This arrogance of Centre must end. Even Ravan’s arrogance ended on Dussehra," Bharadwaj posted on X.

According to Customs officials, intelligence and profiling teams had been deployed for all flights, with routine screenings being conducted as part of the department's security and risk-assessment process.

Officials said some flights are subjected to additional scrutiny based on risk assessment and profiling.

“Punjab CM Bhagwat Mann cooperated with us. It was not a big issue. Nothing was found,” Customs officials told Times Now.

The officials' account comes amid the political allegations surrounding Mann's airport stop, with the AAP accusing the Centre of deliberately obstructing the Punjab government's activities.
