Patancheru Traffic Police Face Allegations Over PhonePe Payments
Hyderabad: A video of a man alleging that traffic police in Patancheru have been asking motorists to make digital payments through PhonePe to QR codes belonging to local vendors and petrol bunks instead of accepting cash has surfaced.
In the video, the man claimed that police stopped him and asked him to pay a fine. He alleged that when he told the police that he did not have cash and offered to make the payment through PhonePe, the officer asked him to transfer the money to a QR code. The motorist further claimed that he had all the necessary vehicle documents.
Motorists have urged senior police officials to look into the allegations, verify the claims and take appropriate action if any irregularities are found.
