MLAs, MLCs Seek Konda Surekha’s Suspension over Anti-Party Activities
Hyderabad: Around 20 Congress MLAs and MLCs demanded suspension of Endowments and Environment Minister Konda Surekha in connection with her alleged anti-party activities.
The demand for Surekha’s suspension was raised following remarks made by her daughter Sushmita. The MLAs strongly condemned Sushmita’s recent comments on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
Addressing a press conference, they appealed to the high command to take action against those who speak in a way that harms the party. “It is not right for Surekha to say that she has nothing to do with Sushmita’s comments. If she has nothing to do with her comments, then Surekha should condemn them,” she said.
The language of the Konda family has always been a headache for the party. The Congress government is going to have to pay the price for her comments. The AICC should take action against those who speak like this.
“Revanth Reddy and his brothers worked hard to bring the Congress to power. It is not right to speak openly about the CM and the party like this. If there is anything, it should be spoken in the CLP and PCC meeting. We demand strict action against whoever makes false allegations,” they said.
Sushmita’s comments will give strength to the opposition, they observed.
