Miami Plane Crash Video: Amazon Prime Air Boeing 767 Overruns Runway, Flames Seen Near Airport

An Amazon cargo plane has crashed at Miami International Airport after reportedly overshooting the runway and crossing a roadway before coming to rest in a field near an Amazon warehouse. The Boeing aircraft, operated by Prime Air, was landing in Miami after departing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, when the incident occurred on Sunday, according to reports.

Images from the scene showed the plane with Amazon branding close to a building, with heavy smoke billowing from the aircraft. Video footage showed the cargo plane on fire, with flames visible and thick black smoke rising into the air.

The aircraft reportedly crossed a road after leaving the runway before ending up in a field near an Amazon warehouse. Reacting to the incident, the FAA said in a statement: "21 Air Flight 7598 overran the runway after landing at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Boeing 767-300 cargo aircraft departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The FAA will investigate."

Emergency services reported multiple fatalities following the crash. It was not immediately clear whether any of those killed were on the aircraft or on the ground. Preliminary reports also indicated that there were four people classified as "black tag" - meaning they were believed to have died - and two "red tag" patients, indicating critical injuries. Those figures have not yet been independently confirmed.

All departing flights from Miami International Airport have been halted, according to WSVN.

Emergency crews responded to the scene as smoke continued to rise from the aircraft.

The circumstances that caused the Boeing 767 cargo plane to overshoot the runway remain unclear. Officials have yet to release a confirmed number of casualties or provide details about the condition of the aircraft's crew.
