Marathon to kick off Gowliguda Gurudwara’s 100-year celebrations
Hyderabad: The historic Central Gurudwara Sahib Gowliguda is celebrating 100 years in 2026. To commemorate the occasion, grand centenary celebrations have been lined up by the Prabhandak Committee of Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda in cooperation with all the Sikh Gurudwaras in Telangana.
To kick off the celebrations, a grand marathon has been organised for all age groups comprising 3 kilometre, 5 kilometre, and a family walkathon on Saturday, August 23.
It will see participation from 5,000 people. The marathon will be flagged off at 5:45 am from HMDA Grounds, near IMAX, Khairatabad and will pass through People’s Plaza and Necklace Road before returning to HMDA Grounds.
The winners will be honoured with medals in various categories, while T-shirts and digital certificates will be given to all participants. Breakfast, refreshments and medical support will be arranged for all the people at the event.
The grand centenary celebrations will feature continuous prayers (Akhand Path Sahib), musical worship sessions (Kirtan Darbar), and community initiation ceremonies (Amrit Sanchar) and several other events in September.
