Kangana Ranaut Calls Taapsee Pannu ‘Sasti Copy’ In Fresh Social Media Dig

Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has reignited her long-running public feud with actress Taapsee Pannu after taking a fresh dig at her on social media, reportedly calling her a “sasti copy” and questioning comments about her upbringing.

Kangana reportedly shared two Instagram Stories on Saturday evening in response to recent remarks by Taapsee about their differences. The posts were later deleted by Sunday morning.

In one of the posts, Kangana did not name Taapsee directly but referred to her as a “sasti copy” and accused her of crossing a line by making remarks about Kangana’s upbringing and parents.

Kangana wrote that parents generally do their best for their children and said she had avoided bringing family members into previous arguments. She then questioned why the actress’ parents had not “birth someone original” and said she felt sorry for their efforts.

The latest exchange followed an interview in which Taapsee spoke about her long-running differences with Kangana. Taapsee said the two actresses had never actually met, either before or after their public disagreements became widely known.

Taapsee also suggested that people’s views and behaviour can be influenced by their upbringing and background. Her comments appeared to draw a sharp response from Kangana, who interpreted them as remarks about her own family and upbringing.

The “sasti copy” label has a history in the actresses’ public feud. The phrase became associated with the controversy in 2019 after Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel accused Taapsee of copying Kangana following Taapsee’s praise for the trailer of Judgementall Hai Kya without mentioning Kangana by name.

Taapsee later responded to the criticism, saying there was no copyright on curly hair or honest opinions.

The two actresses have continued to exchange occasional comments over the years, although Taapsee said earlier this year that she would still be open to becoming friends with Kangana.

Their latest social media spat has once again brought their old differences into the spotlight, with Kangana’s now-deleted posts drawing renewed attention online.

Neither actress has indicated that the latest exchange has led to any direct meeting or conversation between them.
