Hanamkonda: Woman’s Body Found in Car Boot Near Elkathurthy, Friend Held

Warangal: The body of a 32-year-old woman was found in the boot of a car that had been abandoned for three days near Elkathurthi on the Warangal-Karimnagar national highway. The deceased was identified as Ankathi Manasa of Ratnapur in Godavarikhani, Karimnagar district. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, making initial identification difficult.

Residents noticed the car parked near Elkathurthi and alerted police after detecting a foul smell from the vehicle. Police opened the boot and found the body. According to police, Manasa had left home three days earlier, telling her family that she was travelling to Arunachalam, but did not return. Police said Manasa was previously married and had been staying with her parents following marital disputes.

After leaving home, investigators suspect that Manasa went to the residence of her long-time neighbour Milukuri Vinod Reddy, who stays in Karimnagar. The families of Vinod Reddy and Manasa had reportedly been neighbours in Godavarikhani earlier. He moved to Karimnagar for employment. The circumstances surrounding what happened subsequently are under investigation. Police have reportedly taken Vinod Reddy into custody for questioning.

Probationary constable terminated for alleged murder of couple

Probationary police constable Mohammed Shareef, accused in the alleged murder of a couple at Mothe in Suryapet district, has been terminated and discharged from service.

According to orders issued by Suryapet superintendent of police K. Narsimha, Shareef was appointed as a police constable on probation for two years. The terms of his appointment provided for termination of service before the declaration of probation on grounds of unsatisfactory performance or conduct.

Shareef, who was posted at Mothe police station, was arrested on August 14 in connection with the alleged murder of the couple. Cases were registered against him under Sections 103, 238 and 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 3(2) of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

60-year-old man dies in road accident in Khammam

A 60-year-old man has died on the spot when a lorry hit his bicycle near the bus stand at Thallada in Khammam district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Annadevara Nageswara Rao, a resident of Narayanapuram village in Thallada mandal. He had gone to Thallada by bicycle for some work and was returning to his village when the lorry allegedly hit him from behind.

His wife had died 10 days earlier due to health problems. Rao had performed her 10th-day rituals on Thursday, a day before the accident.
