Cases Filed Against Defaulting Rice Mills Over CMR Delivery
Mahabubabad: Cases have been registered against five rice mills in Mahabubabad district for defaulting on the delivery of Custom Milled Rice (CMR), with action also initiated against three more mills under ‘Mission K-100’, the additional collector (civil supplies) said.
Officials said cases had been registered against Sri Tirumala Binny Rice Mill and Sri Balaji Agro Industries in Kesamudram, among others. Most recently, a case was registered against Dhanalakshmi Industries at Vengampet for defaulting on CMR deliveries for the Kharif 2023-24 season.
Despite repeated notices to clear the outstanding dues payable to the government, the management failed to respond, prompting officials to initiate legal action, they said.
Officials said action had also been taken to recover the dues owed to the government. They warned that defaults or irregularities involving government paddy, CMR deliveries and payment of dues would not be tolerated, and that legal and recovery proceedings would continue against millers who failed to clear outstanding amounts within the stipulated deadlines.
