BRS MLA Says Drought In NSP Ayacut Due To Congress, Not To Nino
Nalgonda: Former minister and BRS MLA Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy on Friday said the drought-like situation within the ayacut of Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) is not because of El Nino effect but has been intentionally created by the Congress government.
Speaking to media at Nalgonda, Jagadish Reddy referred to the reported statement of Komatireddy Venkat Reddy that water would not be released into the canals for irrigation purpose even after water level in NSP has reached the maximum storage capacity.
The BRS MLA alleged that this reveals the Congress government’s conspiracy to dissuade farmers from taking up cultivation of paddy, so that it can escape from its responsibility of procuring the rice crop and paying bonus for the fine variety paddy.
