Border Guard seizes 380 kg of khat, 249,000 tablets in Jazan and Asir 3 h ago
JAZAN/ASIR — Border Guard land patrols arrested 11 violators of the Border Security Law and seized 380 kg of khat, 8 kg of hashish and 249,000 tablets in three separate operations across Jazan and Asir.
In Jazan, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Da'ir Sector arrested nine Ethiopian nationals, violators of the Border Security Law, for smuggling 240 kilograms of khat.
In a separate operation in the Al-Da'ir Sector in Jazan, Border Guard land patrols thwarted the smuggling of 249,000 tablets subject to medical circulation regulations and 8 kilograms of hashish.
Meanwhile in Asir, Border Guard land patrols in the Al-Raboua Sector arrested two Yemeni nationals, violators of the Border Security Law, for smuggling 140 kilograms of khat.
The initial legal procedures were completed in all three cases, with the suspects and seized items handed over to the competent authority.
The public can report information by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, 999 in other regions for security patrols, 994 for the Border Guard, or 995 for the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

Authorities stressed that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality, with no liability whatsoever on the person making the report.
