Aymann, Manasa, Ashraf Top Shots

HYDERABAD: Aymann Muskaan Pathan topped the Junior Women’s category, Keesara Manasa took the Women’s trophy while Kayomarz Ichhaporia claimed the Men’s title at the 2nd Telangana Super Big Bore Open Shooting Competition at the OCTOPUS Shooting Range in Ibrahimpat-nam, Hyderabad.

Aymann scored 98/300, Kayomarz got 94/300 while Manasa hit 93/300 in the Double Barrel/ Single Barrel Telescope/ Optic Sight Rifles Upto and Less Than 8mm Calibre event.

In the Deccan Elite Open Big Bore Grand Prix, Gurjyotsingh Amolaksingh Galliwale topped the scoring charts with 289/300 in the 300m Rifle Prone (NR) Championship for Junior Men. Shaik Baba Aman Shah emerged victorious in the Men’s category with a score of 284/300.

Mohammed Ashraf Ganyani won two medals — silver in the 300M Rifle Prone Men with a score of 273/300 in the Deccan Elite Open Big Bore Grand Prix and bronze in the same event at the State Shooting Championship. “I will continue to aim higher,” Ganyani said.

“These achievements are the result of consistent training, discipline and determination. Balancing business responsibilities with competitive shooting is challenging, but my passion for the sport keeps me motivated. I will continue to train hard for greater success at the National level, with the goal of bringing pride to Telangana and India,” he added.

Athletes representing various States, districts and institutions across the country participated in the Championships.

Former Telangana Director General of Police Anjani Kumar, IPS, too actively participated in the State event and secured a bronze medal in the Double Barrel/ Single Barrel Telescope/ Optic Sight Rifles up to and less than 8mm Calibre with a score of 75/300 in the Veteran Men section.

Telangana Rifle Association president Amit Sanghi congratulated all the participants. “Every athlete who stepped onto the firing point deserves heartfelt congratulations. Your dedication, discipline and sportsmanship truly reflect the spirit of shooting sport,” he said.
