Amid Los Angeles Wildfires, "Heartbroken" Preity Zinta Shares Update, "We Are Safe As Of Now"

Preity Zinta shared an update on social media and assured fans that she and her family are safe “as of now” amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

On X (formerly Twitter), Preity wrote: “I never thought I would live to see a day where fires would ravage neighbourhoods around us in LA, friends & families either evacuated or put on high alert, ash descending from smoggy skies like snow & fear & uncertainty about what will happen if the wind does not calm down with toddlers and grandparents with us.”

She continued, “I’m heartbroken at the devastation around us and grateful to God that we are safe as of now.”

Preity also extended her thoughts and prayers to those who had been displaced or lost everything in the fires. She concluded by thanking the fire department, firefighters and all those helping to save lives and property.

On January 9, Priyanka Chopra also expressed her gratitude to the “brave” first responders working tirelessly to help those affected by the wildfires.

She shared a post on Instagram Stories showing the first responders battling the fire, which has ravaged thousands of acres of land.

Priyanka wrote, “A huge shoutout to the incredibly brave first responders. Thank you for working tirelessly overnight and continuing to help families affected. @lasdhq @losangelesfiredepartment @lapdhq.”

Priyanka had earlier posted a video showing the wildfire engulfing parts of Los Angeles.

Similarly, actress Nora Fatehi evacuated California on January 9 after the wildfires caused destruction in Los Angeles.

In a video, Nora shared her harrowing experience: “Hey guys, so I’m in Los Angeles, and the wildfires are crazy. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is insane. We just got an evacuation order like five minutes ago, so I quickly packed all my stuff and am evacuating. I’m going to the airport to chill there because I have a flight today, and I really hope it doesn’t get cancelled. This is scary. I’ve never experienced anything like this before – just uncontrollable fires. I’m going to keep you guys updated.”

A massive wildfire broke out in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025, forcing over 30,000 residents to evacuate. In response to the crisis, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles.
