Hrithik Roshan’s debut film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, made a grand comeback to cinema halls on his birthday, January 10. The superstar also attended a special screening of the film, and fans in the theatre just could not keep calm.

Pictures and videos from the event have gone viral. In one clip shared by a cinephile, a jam-packed theatre erupts in cheers. The excitement reaches a fever pitch when Hrithik Roshan makes his entrance. The highlight? The actor standing in front of the big screen and dancing his heart out to Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’s title track.

“Watching Hrithik Roshan dance in front of me was not in my bucket list,” read the text attached to the post.

Did you know Hrithik Roshan was nervous about the re-release of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai? On  January 9, at the trailer launch of his Netflix docu-series, The Roshans, Hrithik candidly admitted that he was “afraid” of how the film would be received by today’s audience.

The actor said, “I am so afraid the film is releasing again. People will go tomorrow after 25 years and think, arre yaar pachis saal pehle hum kya soch rahe the, aisa kuch nahi hai. (what were we thinking twenty-five years ago, it’s nothing as we remember),” reported Hindustan Times.

Directed by Hrithik Roshan’s father, Rakesh Roshan, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai originally hit theatres in January 2000. The movie features Ameesha Patel as the female lead. The stellar cast also includes talents like Anupam Kher, Farida Jalal, Johnny Lever and Satish Shah. 

Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai is a romantic thriller about Rohit and Sonia, who fall in love but are separated by tragedy when Rohit is murdered. Heartbroken, Sonia travels to New Zealand, where she meets Raj, Rohit’s lookalike. Together, they uncover the truth about Rohit’s death and bring the culprits to justice.
